Our Lady Bears 8th grade B Team was psyched as they started the Basketball Tournament by playing Schultz Junior High for their first game Friday night. Kailee Aznar and Madison Goebel were the lead offensive players scoring 15 and 14 points. Madison Klemp, Julia High, and Marleigh Smith also contributed to the score by scoring 4 points each! Chloe Machos, Arianna Santos, and Kaylie Jatzlau all played an aggressive and smart game of defense. Our Lady Bears started off the tournament with a win, 46-7.

As the Tournament continued on Saturday, December 1st, our Lady Bears were ready to continue to fight their way to the Championship. The Lady Bears played a tough, yet exciting game against Brabham Middle School. Kailee Aznar pumped up the crowd with her amazing fast breaks. She scored 14 points alone against the Brabham defense. Madison Goebel and Chloe Machos followed, scoring 6 points each. Riley Hansen was an overall superstar on both Offense and Defense. Riley scored 4 points, but set up several plays and had amazing passes assisting in multiple points for the Lady Bears. Marleigh Smith played a great game of defense making multiple steals and by rebounding the ball several times. The Lady Bears defeated Brabham 31-23, resulting in a chance to win the Championship game of the Tournament.

Our Lady Bears were anxious, yet determined to beat Willowwood in the Championship game! Kailee Aznar and Madison Goebel yet again had the crowd on their feet cheering as they scored a total of 20 points together. Chloe Machos was an all-star defensive player with multiple blocks and steals from the Willowwood defense. She also contributed 5 points to the scoreboard! Kendall Moore played a fantastic game of both offense and defense. Making great passes inbounds and playing an aggressive game of defense. The Lady Bears played such an exciting and heartfelt game, but unfortunately, ended up falling short against Willowwood, 33-30.

Overall, I couldn’t be MORE proud of our 8th Grade B Team!! They placed 2nd out of 8 teams. WAY TO GO LADIES!!
